It's not very often one gets to photograph their own pre-wedding. Believe me, it's not easy. Setting the timer, tripod, asking for help and repeating a couple of times till you get the perfect pose or shot is very tiring, both on the photographer and the soon to be wife.
We wanted the pre-wedding to be a representation of both our personalities so we decided to dress like we usually do. However, we did allow some time for a proper wedding gown shoot. We bought the gown personally from a local boutique and haul it all the way up and down the whole of New Zealand. I believe a pre-wedding should always be a presentation not only of your personalities but also of your day to day activities (in our case day to day travels). This way, the shoot doesn't look too forced or posed. I feel that the pictures represented us so much better. If you ever wanted a shoot where the photographer photographs the most mundane activities and make them represent a feeling, send me an email.
Video at the end of the blog post. :)
