Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America. It is the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was directed by Joe Johnston, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Neal McDonough, Derek Luke, and Stanley Tucci. Predominantly set during World War II, the film tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly man from Brooklyn who is transformed into super-soldier Captain America to aid in the war effort. Captain America must stop the Red Skull – Adolf Hitler's ruthless head of weaponry, and the leader of an organization that intends to use a device called a tesseract as an energy-source for world domination. - wikipedia

I posed this 1/6th scale beast on a black wood and a blue wall. I lighted the image from below. I tried several light positions but the one from the bottom puts light on the shield and face perfectly. You might not get the dark silhouette on the face but you do get that venomous stare from Chris Evans' lookalike sculpture. I wanted to try a more dramatic poster image without the crazy photoshops that most production entails. I like the idea of simplicity in a shoot. A clean focus image is always what turns me on. I added the texts in post production. 

I know this is not a big scale shoot, it is something I had lying around and I thought of making this idea I had. Photography is so much about something grandiose and something commercial that we usually forget we do it because we love it. So, if you had an idea for an insect, that chair in your house you have lying around for ages, or even a self portrait... go do something about it. People who succeed always DO. They never stop at PLAN.
